Commercial and preliminary analysis

Commercial Analysis:

Chevy has created a comedic commercial so that the company could easily be remembered and top possibly boost sales because of brand recognition. The actors, speaker and tone of the commercial are relativity laid back and relaxed. This relaxed feeling allows the consumer to feel relaxed and more apt to laugh at the commercial. The actors are purposely contradictory of what they are saying which adds to the comedic effect of the commercial because of how blatantly obvious it is. I feel that Chevy wanted a commercial to promote their cars and also to be memorable because of this commercial. They did seem to successfully make the commercial memorable but they did fail to promote their car in a significant way really. They had only promoted the car at the end and it almost seemed like an after thought following the comedic objective. The commercial did however appeal to the consumer ethically because they did mention several features and perks of the car which add to its credibility of being a good option for a car. The commercial also uses the fact that stereotypes are often seen as funny because most people know that they are not true but then Chevy brings in people that near perfectly fit the stereotypes that exist for millennial. The conclusion of the short statement "Real people. Not actors." creates a type of credibility for the company because they are supposed to be recording the real genuine reactions of the stereotyped people that they had brought in.
